Founded in 1070, Marrakesh is the fourth largest city in Morocco and one of the four imperial cities of the country. It is one of the busiest cities in Africa, a major economic center and tourist destination. In the 16th Century, it was the capital of Morocco.





The Medina quarter, a densely packed walled medieval city, dating to the Berber Empire, with narrow thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
